Getting to Parramatta by Train
Handy Apps
To navigate the Sydney Trains network (be it to Parramatta or anywhere else), you can use these handy links to help you navigate the train network:
Payment & Opal cards
The easiest way to pay for public transport in Sydney is with your credit/debit card!*
Always tap on and off with your digital or physical card every time you use public transport, and your total fare will be charged at the end of the day.
Alternatively, you can purchase a rechargeable Opal card at most newsagents, and single-trip tickets at major stations.
*To avoid international card fees and potential payment issues, we do not recommend using a non-Australian credit/debit card. Use an Opal card if this may affect you.

Getting to Sydney by Plane
For many furs outside of New South Wales (either interstate or international), catching a flight by aeroplane is the most common way to get to Sydney. With so many potential destinations, it is impossible for us to list them all here, but here are a few common airlines just to get you started.
Tip: Use Google’s flight search to find the best value flights for you.
Navigating from the Airport to Parramatta
As awesome as it would be to fly to Parramatta directly by plane, it’s simply not possible. In most circumstances, your flight will arrive at the Domestic or International Airport terminals, and you will need to continue your journey by train or by car.
If you’re continuing your journey by train, you can take a train to Central Station via the T8 line, then catch a train from Central Station to Parramatta Station via the T1 line. (Warning: Departure platforms may vary)
There are other options, but this is the most direct. Please see ‘Getting to Parramatta by train‘ above.
You can refer to Airportlink.com.au for further help in travelling from the airport.
Tip: If you aren’t bringing a fursuit and have some time to spare, you can save on the $15 airport station fee by taking the 420 bus to Mascot Station from the front of the Qantas domestic terminal, or from the public bus bay on the international terminal! Just follow the signs pointing to “public buses.”

Long Distance Train or Coach
Trains and coaches are a laid-back, cheap, and environmentally friendly way to get to Sydney for Aurawra if you’re coming from anywhere in regional NSW or major cities along the East Coast.
InterCity Trains
Transport NSW provides four frequent InterCity services to the greater Sydney region, from Kiama (via Wollongong), Goulburn, Newcastle, and Lithgow.
Your trip will cost up to ~$10, and there is no need to book — simply tap your Opal or credit/debit card when getting on and off. Catch any of these services towards Sydney, then transfer to the T1 towards Parramatta at Redfern or Central if arriving on South Coast and Southern Highlands lines, Strathfield if you’re on the Newcastle line, or just get off at Parramatta if you’re on the Blue Mountains line.
Plan your trip using the Transport NSW trip planner.
Regional Trains and Coaches
TrainLink NSW runs daily trains from Brisbane, Melbourne, and Canberra and has an extensive coach and train network that covers most of regional NSW. Prices for these are usually cheaper than flying and are more enjoyable than driving the whole way! Check out the TrainLink booking website to see your options!
Murrays Coaches also run hourly bus services between Canberra and Sydney, which cost up to $50. Visit their website to book!
